The Wall of Memories

The Columbarium is our gathering place here on earth, while the Wall of Memories will be our gathering place in the cloud.  We have the white board in the cloud and the pens; it is for you to write your own history.

You may have to travel to gather at the columbarium, but with the Wall of Memories, you can gather online and even merge the visit with apps like Zoom so all can be seen and heard. The Wall of Memories is being designed and will be released by the end of the year. It will be for all who have loved ones at rest in the columbarium. We expect photographs as images, artwork as images, documents as pdf’s, recordings as mp3’s, and video shorts and reels as .mp4s. There will be pre-arranged visitation rooms with photographs, eulogies, and an obituary.

The Wall of Memories will make it easy for you to save your memories, and our staff will always be there to assist you.

What is the Wall of Memories?

The Wall of Memories is Walker Chapel’s planned digital memorial system where families may preserve photographs, videos, written histories, and family memories online for future generations.

How long will Walker Chapel Historic Cemetery remain active?

The Chapel started with a gathering of families, and that continues today. We love that it is a Chapel, not a church, although it is now both. We work together, pray together, and have fun together. Walker Chapel is a standout in a district with over 100 Methodist Churches. Our parsonage is the very best in the district, and we strongly support the main Church. In return, they support us. We built a stone wall to last 1,000 years and pledge to each other to work hard to keep the Chapel active until then and beyond.

Will future generations know our story?

Historic cemeteries preserve memory in ways that private storage or scattering cannot. A properly engraved niche becomes part of a family's continuing history. At Walker Chapel, each physical niche has a companion digital niche called The Wall of Memories where the family can upload photographs, videos, important documents, and memories to the Cloud for sharing across generations.

Creating a Family Legacy in a Historic Cemetery

The Columbarium at Walker Chapel Cemetery is a place to keep ashes permanently. It becomes a place to visit and for family gatherings of remembrance. They are on consecrated grounds of great beauty and peace. The cemetery is in the Walker Chapel Historic District, with the Chapel itself, which is a classical white church on the hill.
